• Background Location: When enabled, we continue monitoring location in the background for continuous speed tracking
• Purpose: Location data is used exclusively for speed monitoring, violation detection, and safety alerts

Speed and Movement Data

We collect and process:

• Current speed measurements
• Speed limit violations and timestamps
• Movement patterns for accuracy optimization

Device Information

We may collect minimal device information including:

• Device type and iOS version (for compatibility)
• App version and crash reports (for stability)
• User preferences and settings

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for the following purposes:

Core App Functionality

• Real-time speed monitoring and alerts
• Speed limit violation detection
• Safety warnings and notifications
• Customizable speed limits and preferences

App Improvement

• Analyzing app performance and stability
• Identifying and fixing bugs
• Optimizing GPS accuracy and battery usage

3. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All speed and violation data is stored locally on your device using:

• iOS secure storage mechanisms
• Encrypted data storage where applicable
• No cloud synchronization unless explicitly enabled

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

• Data encryption in transit and at rest
• Secure API communications
• Regular security assessments
• Minimal data collection principles

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only as long as necessary:

• Violation Records: Stored locally until manually deleted by user
• Location Data: Processed in real-time, not permanently stored
• App Preferences: Stored until app is deleted or reset

Your Right to Delete

You can delete your data at any time:

• Clear violation history through app settings
• Reset app to default settings
• Delete the app completely removes all local data

5. Third-Party Services

Advertising (Google AdMob)

SpeedGuard displays advertisements through Google AdMob for non-premium users:

• Data Collection: AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and advertising ID
• Purpose: To serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance
• Location Data: Your precise location data is NOT shared with AdMob or advertisers
• Personalized Ads: You can control personalized advertising through iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
• Premium Users: Premium subscribers see no advertisements
• Third-Party Policy: AdMob operates under Google's Privacy Policy

App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

In compliance with Apple's requirements:

• We request permission to track your activity for advertising purposes
• You can deny or revoke this permission at any time
• Denying tracking does not affect app functionality
• You will still see ads, but they won't be personalized

Analytics (Aptabase)

We use Aptabase for privacy-focused analytics:

• Collects minimal, anonymized usage data
• No personal information or location data shared
• Used only for app improvement and crash reporting
• You can opt-out through app settings

Apple Services

SpeedGuard uses Apple's Core Location framework:

• Subject to Apple's privacy policies
• Location data processed according to iOS privacy standards
• You control location permissions through iOS settings

6. Your Privacy Rights

Location Permissions

You have full control over location access:

• Grant or deny location permissions at any time
• Choose between "While Using App" or "Always" access
• Disable background location tracking
• App functionality requires location access for core features

Data Control

You can:

• Access all your stored violation data
• Export your data through app settings
• Delete individual violation records
• Reset all app data and preferences

7. Children's Privacy

SpeedGuard is designed for drivers and may be used by minors with parental supervision:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• Parents should supervise app usage by minors
• If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately

8. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy:

• Users will be notified of significant changes through app updates
• Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms
• Previous versions available upon request

9. International Users

SpeedGuard complies with international privacy laws:

• GDPR (EU): Rights to access, rectify, and delete personal data. You can opt-out of personalized advertising
• CCPA (California): Right to know, delete, and opt-out of data sales. We do not sell personal data
• COPPA (Children): We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 for advertising

Your Advertising Choices

• Opt-out of Personalized Ads: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
• Remove All Ads: Upgrade to SpeedGuard Premium
• Limit Ad Tracking: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising
• Reset Advertising Identifier: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Reset Identifier

This Privacy Policy is effective as of January 2025 and applies to all users of SpeedGuard.
